Well hi there, what's this? A blog? I have one? Really? Haha no. I'm sorry for being away for an awful long time but you see a lot of things has happened in my life this last month or so I've been gone. First off is this beutiful lady coming to see me;
We had so much fun! In just 10 days we managed to go all over the place, like Tokyo and disneyland! I had so much fun with Jenny and it didn't feel like we had been apart for around a year, but that's the thing about me and Jenny's relationship.. We don't have to be all up in eachother's business, we're such good friends we know the other one will be there for you if you need them to and there's no need to constantly reassure that. I loved having her around me once again!
And I've also spent a lot of time with this wonderful, awesome woman.. Kathleen Lawler 8D The guy in the middle would be the bartender at the place we've spent a lot of time at.. the so called hipster bar. Ah all of the things we've discussed there.. it's been a wonderful 7 months 8D And now as the year draws to a close I don't know how to put in words how much I've enjoyed me and Lawlers lovely excursions. I seriously do not know what I would've done without her, probably become depressed haha 8D I definitely needed someone like her to talk to about everything between heaven and earth, and she's been a good listener of course.. When I look back at this year in Japan the memories with her are gonna shine the brightest.. Ahh! I'm gonna miss her!
The final tests are over now too and this thursday I'll leave KICL behind, it's been a tough year at this school and this last semester has almost killed me because I definitely feel like I got bumped up way toooo hiiiigh but oh well. I did my hardest and that's all that counts.. I'm feeling ready to go home now, it's about time I get back to the cold and beautiful Sävar! XD
In case you haven't heard it my kittycat has died. Two days after I left Sweden for Japan he ran over the road outside our house and got run over, from what I've heard from mom and dad he didn't die from being run over.. My dad had to put him down. I was so devastated when I heard about this since it was me who brought him to our house and it was sort of my cat, he slept in my bed when he wanted to be cuddly.. The only comfort I have is that the last months of his life was very happy, he got to eat a lot and run around outside. Mom and dad buried him in the bushes he loved to sit in, facing the house where the feline he loved to play around with lived.
Here's a bad pic of the kitty and me, when he did sleep in my bed he always slept on my chest.. Close to the heart.
So I will give you a quick recap of the loong and hard trip over here. So it all started with a tearful goodbye of my family and friends at the airport, I still miss you all! Then me&Johanna went to Stockholm and then waited for Dena that came with a later plane. Our last meal was at McDonalds at Arlanda, I was sad since I wanted MAX but it was just for domestic flights :( We checked in and shopped a bit before boarding the plane to Frankfurt and quicker than you could say quidditch we were on the plane to Shanghai. That around 11 hour flight was haaaard. I think I just slept around 3 hours on it and we didn't even have our own private screens! But I somehow managed to live through that and we arrived at Shanghai airport which was very gorgeous!
As you can see the ceiling in the international terminal was off the hook! At Shanghai airport we went to the bathroom, sweated, went to the bathroom again and waited.
And I also decided to nap..
The flight to Osaka went smoothly but our good luck ended there since the cab which was supposed to pick us up didn't show up since it only drove to Kyoto and we were gonna sleep the first night in Osaka. We took the bus to Osaka station and planned to take a cab to the hotel from there but all the cab drivers were major assholes and said they didn't "know" where our hotel was which was complete bull of course! When we finally found the hotel it turned out it was very central and not something a cab driver wouldn't know where it is.
As you can see the hotel room was very nice! The morning after we ate a nice breakfast but there my problems with my stomach started, because of the heat in Japan and the jetlag my stomach have been acting up ever since we arrived and I threw up after the first night in our apartment and I've been feeling sick a little every day. But now it's finally getting better!
Today we took the bus to the shopping district in Kyoto, Sanjo/Shido, there's a lot of stores to explore in Kyoto.. A lot of small streets with small stores that are just crazy! I ate yakiniku today at a real Japanese restaurant, tiny space and weird vegetables.
The homesickness is also starting to get somewhat better, I still miss my parents and Sweden but it's tolerable now. When I can skype with them I think it'll get gradually better.. But I'll still miss them tons!
So what do I do these last days of being at home? I EAT. And cook. Which is very NICE haha.. I think I'm getting a hang of cooking now so I will definitely rule the kitchen in Japan with an iron fist ahaahha 8D I cooked a delicious meal for my hardworking mother yesterday, rare roast beef with french potato gratin and home-made mushroom sauce.
I had prepared it all nicely for mom, I'm so proud of myself for managing to do good and tender meat!
I can assure you it was as delicious as it looks like!
This is the view from our kitchen window.. I'm really gonna miss this idyllic Swedish garden when I live in a apartment and not in a big red house.. I've never lived in a apartment before, how will it go!?
Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless
This weekend my older sister, Sara is visiting because she doesn't want to be alone in the apartment she shares with her boyfriend (who's on vacation in Italy with his colleagues) so she decided to spend some time with me before I flee the country. Or well, move to Japan 8D When she hasn't been studying (she's on her second term at the university in Umeå studying to become a speech therapist) we've been having a lot of fun.. Yesterday we made a delicious home-made pizza and we took a long nice walk in the crisp autumn air. Today she made me American pancakes and helped me sort out the clothes I'm bringing to Japan.. This whole weight limit thing is making it quite hard to pack.. I have no idea if I will be able to fit everything, it's gonna be tiiiiiight.
The home-made pizza in bad light, I can assure you it was delicious!
The American pancakes with the nice fruit she cut up for us
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance
Hi there again. 2 weeks left until I move to Japan and what have I done since I got broke? I joined Frida&Frida for a friday night out.. We had fun.. Lotsa fun 8D
We started out all proper with wine and a three course meal cooked by the lady in lace, Frida
Then we put on some lovely makeup and then it all got very party and we danced around the living room, scaring Frida's dog with our crazy moves haha 8D And as usual when there's a camera around I present this face..
Charming huh? Oh yes this is my photo face.
All in all it was a great evening despite the fact that the places open for 18-19 year olds are packed with people born 1993. And that means you don't know who they are and that takes away all the fun parts! Oh well.. I've watched kung fu panda for the first time as well.. and cars! I liked kung fu panda more.. It was SO DAMN HILARIOUS. Jack Black makes one helluva nice panda ahaha.
“Listening to parents' advice is sort of like watching commercials. You know what's coming, you've heard it all before, it's a big bore, but you listen anyway”
I just came home from a very nice weekend in Stockholm with my parents and my older sister. Me, my mother and my sister ran a sort of race called "Girlsmile" (when I say mile I mean 10km, not the other rubbish XD) which is a race that's for ladies, and ladies only. This year a bit over 30 000 girls took part in the race and I had the privilege to be one of them, I had lots of fun and surprised myself with running 8 out of 10 km (surprising considering I've only run 2,5 km before) in a (for me) impressive speed. We had the time to do other things too, we took the chance to visit the Thiel gallery that has quite a collection of both Munch paintings and Zorn paintings, we went to the movies to see "midnight in paris" (quite a lovely movie, I adored it but I am a big fan of 20's Paris) and enjoyed many good meals.
Here we have the Thiel gallery, wonderful building that used to be the residence of businessman Ernest Thiel. The many valuable paintings inside are parts of his vast art collection.
The grande couch at the Thiel gallery.. It wasn't even comfortable to sit in 8D
The garden at the gallery was wonderful, when running the race we ran past here so the surrounding nature of the track we ran was gorgeous. We ran around a peninsula called "djurgården" which is a district of Stockholm, it was very beautiful out there and I asked myself why I hadn't spent any time there before!
We also visted Rosendal garden café which is a beutiful café out at djurgården where you can eat some seriously delicious food and sweets. The surroundings are beautiful and they grow their own crops and flowers.. I loved it.
One night we stayed in the Old Town and you just gotta love the atmosphere there. Let's just say I have, for the moment, fallen in love with Stockholm. The architecture and the museums.. Not the people that reside there haha ;)
So my sister turned 23 today! Can you imagine how time flies? I'll let this picture represent that even if we both leave home and pursue our dreams we'll always be sisters. We may not have always seen eye to eye and bickered a lot over the years and had our fights but you'll always be my sister and I love you <3
So I thought I'd try a videoblog and see how it went.. I'm rambling on for quite some time and haha my glasses are a bit crooked but yeah, there you have it!
Here I present to you my pride and joy, our little kittycat Peppe! Right now he's sleeping on my couch and he's just so cute! I will surely miss him when I move to Japan.. He's such an adorable little kitty. This weekend I've had my aunt, uncle and one of my cousins over and it was real nice! We shopped on saturday (I bought some basic things at H&M for my move to Japan, then cracked under the pressure and bought a rouge brush from make up store that I sorta needed) and ate a reaaal nice dinner at home, my mom's officially the best cook ever, and me and my cousin Agnes watched "titanic" one of my old faves!
This is the lemon merengue pie I baked for the dinner on saturday, it turned out really good and it was damn delicious! I thought I'd mess it up because I always manage to do it... but I was positively surprised!
Cowboys and aliens was awesome.. Tonight I hope I'll dream about Daniel Craig with no clothes on... Mmmhmmmm that's one hot man.. Before going to the movies I enjoyed a good burger and the lovely company of Dena, that girl is so awesome wahah ^-^
Got my paycheck today and let's just say it was twice as big as I thought it'd be. Which is awesome since Imma need that money soon. Tomorrow it's exactly ONE MONTH left until the big move, time is moving with the speed of light..
“Imperfection is beauty. Madness is genius. It is better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”
This Saturday I was invited to the lovely Jenny's house in the middle of nowhere for a dinner party! Since she had a dresscode we all had put our best foot foorward, the guys wore suits and the gals wore pretty dresses. We sat outside where Jenny had put lights in the trees and lit candles and everything, very pretty. The food was superb and the drinks were even better! I had a very fun night with Jenny and her friends! Yesterday I worked (;_;) and hung out with Dena (which was awesome)! We looked at Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios in Osaka and it looked so awesomeeeee! We're definitely going there! I love theme parks and the funny thing was, these parks are HUGE (I'm not kidding you, they're ENORMOUS) and it costs about as much as going to the theme park in Stockholm called Gröna Lund..
So yeah I went into town today.. I was just gonna head by the body shop but somehow I ended up exercising my debit card a bit more.. I met up with my good friend Frida and checked out her and her moms new apartment, it was very fresh! Loved it! Then we went and ate Chinese food for lunch, it was delish! Then she had to work and I walked into town to buy facial toner but I ended up bringing home a lot more...
This poncho thingy from Gina Tricot (here worn with a belt from my own closet) and this hat from Kappahl I took home with me, I just love that poncho! It's so cosy and I'll looove wearing it during fall in Japan! When buying the fab hat I met with my new friend/fellow Gack-worshipper, My! We're from the same town, she's a year older than me, and we didn't know we both loved Japan and Gackt! So weird! She's awesome, I think we'll become good friends haha!
Here's a fab pic of me with another purchase, my eye mask from the body shop! It's soooo nice! It works wonder for tired eyes, you just pop it in the fridge for about and hour and put it on your eyes and it instantly makes you feel more refreshed and not as tired! Loving it already.. I also bought an eyeliner and shaving cream for my legs but that's boring.. Oh and a black cardigan, just a simple one. Been needing that for awhile!
If there's something I just can't get enough of it's beauty products. I guess it's not a very uncommon thing to be addicted to, it's almost like throwing "I AM ADDICTED TO SHOESHOPPING" out there but I was scrolling through eleven.se (a beauty site) and when I realized I could easily click home products for way over a hundred dollars I thought "wow, I really love my beauty products".. The fact that I asked our contact person for our move to Japan (he's a guy) about Japanese makeup brands is another sign that I maybe should start chilling out with my beauty addiction 8D
So yeah Stockholm was beyond awesome! I had so much fun with Johanna (<3) we were tardier than ever and just enjoyed being free from work for a few days! Gröna Lund, Gackt, shopping and the good food were so GREAT! There is nothing I can say that I didn't like (apart from being almost strangled by an elbow on the concert and the constant queueing XD) so it was just a taste of what's about to come! Meeting with Koski (the guy that's helping us move to Japan) was very funny aswell.... I ended up asking him about good asian makeup brands.. It was kinda hilarious how like lost he looked.. He ended up asking his Japanese girlfriend that was filming the meeting for an information thingy but I got something good out of it!
Today me and my favorite girl Johanna is heading to Stockholm! We're gonna meet Koski&Dena, go to Gröna Lund (!!) and of course WE'RE GONNA SEE GOD (aka Gackt)
Sooo what happened since I last blogged? I worked.. (horribly interesting, I know) and I've been a big manly man and drove a tractor and all at work 8D But the only thing worth mentioning is Jenny coming over! (or well.. my nickname for her has always been Jenny-Jane, don't ask me why XD) she just came by and was all sweet, brought me flowers from her garden and a WOONDERFUUUL cheesecake with a chocolate bottom (for my Swedish readers, like a kladdkaka botten) and the cream cheese spread was with red currants in it. It was seriously yummy. We talked as usual, catched up on things.. And in general just had a nice evening!
There she is! And the cake.. Jenny is looking awfully bohemic here haha (and yes that thing on her arm is a real tatto 8D) I also overslept today, came half an hour late to work.. I think I need to swop alarm signal again, I'm getting too used to my current one! Oh sometimes it sucks being able to sleep through almost anything...
Har nu börjat jobba på Sävar kyrkogård. Kewl? Keysmashade.. Funkade.
God I'm so frickin' SORE! Went horseback riding (for the first time in like 2 years! I used to do it quite a lot but somehow quit with it and I got the lust back just noe XD) yesterday for an hour and a half. It was tons of fun but today I'm freakin' BEAT! It feels like I've been driven through a mangle.. But I definitely enjoyed it, the horse I had the honor to ride was so nice and wonderful. Her gallop was so smooth and comfortable!
Found a funny uhh.. thing on my laptops webcam program XD
Looking mighty fine as usual.. This is what I do when I'm alone ;)
I am in love with my new bag though! My pink laptop baby fits all smoothly in it too!
