祇園祭 - Gion matsuri

Me and Johanna decided to head downtown for the Gion matsuri today and enjoy all the different food stands that we had heard were lined up on the streets. Gion matsuri is one of Japan's biggest festivals and Kyoto's biggest. It's been celebrated for almost 1000 years straight (WWII being one of the times it was put on hold for a few years) and it is a festival that celebrates the God of Yasaka temple.

We decided to put on our yukatas and sweat the heat out (today it's been a wopping 35 degrees celsius in Kyoto) hence my sweaty appearance and muppety face haha.

YEAH BABY. FOOD. It was, as you can see, a loot of people out on the streets of Kyoto tonight..

20 år

Igår fyllde jag 20 och hur känns det då? Tja, faktiskt inte så annorlunda alls 8D Det här är mitt gulliga födelsedagkort som jag fick med mina presenter på morgonen..

Jag fick en massa fina saker av mina vänner.. Bland annat en parfym...

En ögonskugga från MAC jag suktat efter i seriöst ett år..

På kvällen gick vi till en restaurang som hade som ett "world kitchen" tema med en buffé fylld med smaskigheter! Vi hade det som vanligt väldigt trevligt med mycket skratt.. All in all så var det en väldigt lyckad födelsedag, tack så mycket till alla som förgyllde den :D

Pretty little things

Bought this beautiful little tea jar when I went to the city of macha, Uji.. There was plenty of jars in all sizes and shapes to choose from and they were all equally pretty! I might be returning there for gifts...
