Omnious

So a week and a half ago me and my dearest 'sambos' went to this amazing (but very omnious place) called fushimi inari. This place is decked out with so called tori ports, a symbol in the japanese religion shinto, and there are several trails around the mountain where this shrine lays surrounded by these orange tori ports. It doesn't look very omnious, right? But the feeling around this place was just a bit scary. A lot of ravens were making a racket in the woods, circling above the ports and because of all the ports it was like the whole place was veiled in a shadow.

Another thing that made the place a bit dark was the statues of the God's bff, kitsune (fox). These fellas didn't look especially friendly and were standing practically everywhere.

Even the wooden 'wish papers' was shaped as a fox! These 'wish papers' you can purchase at a shrine and you write whatever wish you have (a shrine is inhabitated by a special God so you usually go to different shrines for different wishes) and then hang it up by the shrine and your wish is supposed to come true.

The text on the side of the tori port is the name of the businessman who has donated it to this shrine.

After the visit to fushimi inari me and this beauty went and ate some delicious food, all in all a very good day!
